Article Abstract:
Experiments on pigeons indicate that the discriminative behavior in successive discriminations is dependent on many sources of stimulus control including delayed control by component transition. An alteration of red and green colors was used as successive discriminations. The development of a difference in response depends on reinforcer and stimulus control. A response differential is not possible without a reinforcer differential and a stimulus difference.

Article Abstract:
Two timing conditions for training four pigeons were combined to create a remembering condition in which correct responding depended upon discrimination of both the sample stimulus and the delay interval. Choices varied systematically across delay in timing conditions, but in remembering conditions, accurate choice at the training delays did not initially generalize to intermediate delays.

Article Abstract:
Forgetting functions with eighteen delay intervals were generated for delayed matching-to-sample performance in pigeons. The result is in line with the treatment of the forgetting function in terms of generalization decrement.
