Article Abstract:
New techniques in international development practice call for enlarging the social workers' role to encompass international development work. International development practices should consider both structural and conjectural analyses to form the basis of a thorough understanding and effective action. A structural analysis examines wider economic, social and political structures, while a conjectural analysis considers the immediate political situation. A North-South collaborative program to strengthen social work programs in Nicaragua is discussed.

Article Abstract:
The cultural sensitivity of Israeli social work students was examined to test the hypothesis that cultural sensitivity in students increases as they near the end of the course. Students from the University of Halifa and Tel-Aviv University were recruited as participants for the study. The results showed that the students did not develop cultural sensitivity during their years of study. In addition, prejudice among the subjects did not change during the three years of study.
