Article Abstract:
A study is conducted to find if differences exist among 88 African American, Caucasian, and Latino families who received child welfare services. African American and Latino parents reported more positive outcomes on children's academic adjustment and symptomatic behavior than Caucasian parents when receiving family preservation services.

One of the most powerful tools of a service provider is the ability to establish a good relationship with clients. Interviews conducted on family maintenance (FM) and family preservation (FP) clients stated that FP clients were more satisfied with their works than routine FM participants.

Predictors of court involvement in cases of serious child maltreatment are examined by using characteristics of the child victim, perpetrator and maltreatment incidents. Physical neglect was the most common type of maltreatment to result in dependency court filings.
