Sexuality and underserved youth in communities of color

Article Abstract:

A fact sheet that contains data on issues that affect the sexual development of underserved youth in communities of color has been drawn up for educators, health care providers, and policymakers. Underserved youth must be taught comprehensive sexuality education to provide them with the tools they need in making responsible and realistic decisions about sexuality. Some of the issues that the underserved youth must contend with include abstinence, intimacy, sexual limit setting, pregnancy/sexually-transmitted-disease prevention, and resistance to social, media, and peer pressure.

The National Coalition to Support Comprehensive Sexuality Education

Article Abstract:

The National Coalition to Support Sexuality Education comprises more than 117 national non profit organizations, aiming to promote health, education and social concerns for American youth.It advocates sexuality education policies, develops strategies for the implementation of sexuality education and identifies current research in the field of sexuality education. A list of Coalition members is provided.

Reflections on an adolescent sexuality education program in Turkey

Article Abstract:

Turkey, like many Muslim countries, has virtually no sexual education, either as courses or textbook material. The introduction of a unique sexuality education program for adolescents is described.
