Location and network effects on innovation success: evidence for UK, German and Irish manufacturing plants

Research describing the effects of networking and local operating environments on innovation success for manufacturing firms in three European countries is presented. The study suggests that these factors may be relatively unimportant.

An ex ante evaluation framework for the regional benefits of publicly supported R&D projects

Article Abstract:

The knowledge-base implicit in ex post evaluations of publicly funded R&D and other related conceptual and empirical studies are focused to suggest a framework for the ex ante evaluation of the regional benefits from R&D projects. The application of the framework with two illustrative case studies is presented.
