Determinants of the adoption of information technology: a case study of electrical and electric goods manufacturing firms in India

Article Abstract:

A study investigated the effects of three key factors on the adoption of information technology by small and medium-sized Indian electrical equipment and supplies manufacturing businesses. These three key factors are company size, level of organization's skilled workforce and entrepreneurial ability as well as the entrepreneurs' perspective of market share and the significance they accord to R&D and product quality. Findings show that all three factors are significant determinants of the degree of IT adoption by these small and medium-sized Indian companies.

An integrated network approach to systems of innovation - the case of robotics in Japan

Article Abstract:

A systematic, comprehensive and flexible strategy for examining the innovation system in Japan with regards to robotics is presented. The strategy is based on the framework of technoeconomic network (TEN), employing data on patents, publications and market-related information complemented by performing extensive interviews with key personnel in the academia, corporate and public research institutions. Results indicated the strengths of the strategy in determining the transformation of the innovation system and changing structural setups.
