Combining technology and corporate strategy in small high tech firms

Article Abstract:

Effects were noted when an integrated technology and corporate strategy is undertaken by a small high tech company. During the early period of a company's operation, business is perceived as classically technology-driven since an integrated technology and corporate strategy is expected to develop from research and development activity. As the company develops, business perception becomes principally market-driven while marketing becomes an integral part of innovation success.

Internal R and D expenditures and external technology sourcing

Article Abstract:

External technology sourcing creates a positive effect on a company's internal research and development only when industrial research infrastructure is present. Industrial research cooperation is shown to initiate internal research and development expenditures whenever a company has its own in-house full-time staffed industrial research departments, also called absorptive capacity. Such relationship becomes more evident in companies owned by foreign investors.
