Article Abstract:
The factors that affect the choice of drip irrigation in the sugar industry of Hawaii were determined. The direction and magnitude of the impacts of the choices on the yields were also assessed. An analytical model for the interdependence between production and choice decision is presented. The econometric analysis of irrigation technology choice was based on panel data. The findings suggest that irrigation-specific features in addition to technical, informational, locational and management factors influence individual decisions on drip irrigation choice.
