ADR for managed healthcare disputes

Article Abstract:

Alternative dispute resolution (ADR) provides a forum for managed care users to resolve denial of care disputes. The advantages of ADR include speed, efficiency, low cost and confidentiality. The American Bar Association, the American Medical Association and the American Arbitration Association have cooperated to develop models for ADR resolution of healthcare disputes.

Article Abstract:

Issues regarding the need for additional laws to protect the privacy of the information individuals must provide to the government are discussed. The new opportunities technology gives to commercial users to exploit the personal information are another reason for such laws. The Driver's Privacy Protection Act of 1994 is given as an interesting model for such a law.
