A distant closeness: intimacy between parents and their children in later life

Article Abstract:

This article examines intergenerational relations between aged parents and their adult children. The author maintains even though parents and children may become more distant from each other as they grow older a stronger bond and sense of understanding develops throughout the years creating a paradoxical relationship of distant intimacy.
