A congregational remapping of culture wars

Article Abstract:

The congregation of the evangelical left, which treads the middle ground between religious conservatives and religious liberals, was examined ethnographically. Findings indicated that their social and political activities are neither liberal nor progressive. Instead, such a congregation has formed a local culture which tends to shift the boundaries of the culture wars. This shift is based on the idea of covenantal relationships which affect every aspect of their fellowship.
