A complexity approach to innovation networks. The case of the aircraft industry (1909-1997)
Article Abstract:
Issues concerning the interactions between governments, producers and users are discussed, with particular reference to the aircraft industry. Kauffman's NK-model is used to demonstrate the effects of innovation networks.

Toward a systematic framework for research on dominant designs, technological innovations, and industrial change
Article Abstract:
Empirical model for research on dominant designs during evolutionary phases of artifacts, for analysis of product life cycle, based on architecture of complex systems, is presented.

Scaling trajectories in civil aircraft, 1913-1997
Article Abstract:
Developments in civil aircraft design are examined in detail, with the help of entropy statistics. A sample of 143 designs is used for this study.
