Coronary artery calcification in older adults with minimal clinical or subclinical cardiovascular disease

Article Abstract:

An observational epidemiologic study of 106 older adults found higher total coronary artery calcification scores in subjects with clinical or subclinical cardiovascular disease than in those with no evidence of disease. A relationship was also found between increasing calcium score and white matter grade and subclinical stroke on the cerebral MRI.
