Article Abstract:
The aim of the study is to compare across four age groups the determinants of coronary reperfusion therapy (CRT) use in ST-segment evaluation acute myocardial infraction (STE-AMI). The multivariate probability of being treated with CRT was three to five times higher in patients admitted directly to the other hospitals with PCI facilities than in those admitted to the other hospitals ion the area, but still markedly lower in older individuals.

Article Abstract:
The effect of multicomponent targeted intervention (MTI) for delirium prevention on subsequent nursing home costs for elderly patients is assessed. Results from follow-up data indicates 15.7 percent decrease in long term nursing home costs in comparison with patients who did not receive MIT intervention.

This study examines how acute care in the home for aged patients compares to hospital care in terms of the health and cost effects. Findings suggest that acute home care does not have a significant effect on the health outcomes of aged patients when compared to hospital care.
