Article Abstract:

Age differences in distinctive processing are investigated by examining the effects of study presentation modality on false recall in younger and older adults using Deese /Roediger and McDermott paradigm, Older adults did not show the modality effect, which suggests that they have difficulty relative to younger adults with distinctive processing.

Aging and conditional probability judgments: A global matching approach

Article Abstract:

An investigation of age differences in bias in conditional probability judgments based on predictions derived from a global matching model of likelihood judgment is reported. Findings disclosed that older adults showed more overall judgment error, underestimation of true frequencies, and lack of sensitivity to relative differences in frequency.

Interference effects from divided attention during retrieval in younger and older adults

Article Abstract:

A study was done to examine how retrieval, under divided attention (DA) conditions, is affected by the type of material in a concurrent task, and whether aging produces larger interference effect on memory. The findings supported the component-process model of memory, and pose problems for resource model of interference from DA at retrieval.
