A chart - based method for identification of delirium: validation compared with interview ratings using the confusion assessment method
Article Abstract:
A study for validation of a chart-based method for identification of delirium and comparing it with direct interviewer assessment using the Confusion Assessment Method (CAM) is presented. The chart-based method was validated, but due to potential misclassification, it is not recommended for individual patient care or diagnostic purposes.

Delirium in the intensive care unit: occurrence and clinical course for older patients
Article Abstract:
Patients in an intensive care unit who were aged 65 and older were observed for occurrences of delirium. Out of 118 patients, 83 experienced delirium at some point during their hospital stay. Patients with dementia had increased risk of experiencing dementia.
