Article Abstract:
A cohort study with 5years of follow up for determining the risk of injury associated with the new use of individual benzodiazepines and dosage regimens on 2,53,244 persons aged 65 and older and are nonusers of benzodiazepines in the year before followup, indicates that risk injuries varied by benzodiazepines, independent of half-life, as did the risk associated with increasing dosage for individual products. Higher doses associated with the greatest risk of injury rate in elderly.

Article Abstract:
Elders in Ukraine (after independence) are unable to meet their health requirements due to several reasons, such as poverty life, inadequate medical care, etc. Some of these elderly patients have looked to eastern side, for treatments. A study on elders who have emigrated from Ukraine, and western physicians' practice, who are able to meet the emotional and medical needs of these individuals confidently, is presented.

Research concerning the prevalence of pain in nursing homes is discussed. Results include a finding that daily, nonmalignant pain is common among nursing home residents and often underrecognized and undertreated, especially among men, minorities, and the cognitively impaired.
