The environment for technological change

Article Abstract:

The probable environment for technological change in the future is analyzed by projecting recent trends. Technological change occurs in a socio-economic context that can affect the nature, direction and rapidity of technological change. The environment for technological change should be considered by those involved in research planning and technological management. Some of the particular trends in the technological, economic, managerial, political, social and economic sectors of the environment as well as their implications for technological change are discussed.
