Article Abstract:
In this article yield potential for the Pb-Sn superplastic alloy is derived experimentally using combined tension/torsion method. Analysis reveals that a hypothetically derived anisotropic yield function represents the experimental yield potentials at the superplastic regions.

Article Abstract:
The analysis of superplastic deformation under a plane stress condition is presented to simulate actual superplastic sheet metal forming. A general constitutive model that accounts for microstructural evolution and anisotropy is developed.

Article Abstract:
Different forming pressure-time profiles were used to evaluate the bulge forming performance of Pb-Sn superplastic sheet materials. An optimum pressure-time profile was also proposed based on variable strain rates. The results showed that the forming time was significantly reduced and the integrity of the formed part maintained. In addition, forming profiles using uniaxial models as a basis did not successfully predict actual forming behavior when the loading path was biaxial.
