Greenhouse report foresees growing global stress

Article Abstract:

The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change concluded that global warming would hurt many natural and human systems, but that reducing greenhouse gases through currently feasible technologies could substantially mitigate the damage. Critics called the second conclusion wishful thinking.

Geneticists attack NRC report as scientifically flawed

Article Abstract:

Population geneticists are at odds with the NRC report on DNA fingerprinting. The lack of a population geneticist on the panel and over-reliance on a 1972 paper are the main factors for disagreement on this controversial issue.
