Estimation of carboxyhemoglobin

Article Abstract:

Currently, an equation created by Coburn predicts equilibrium levels of COHb in the bloodstream. However, the equation requires many parameters and is complex. Researchers present here a simple, empirical equation to generate a relatively accurate COHb-time curve to estimate exposure. The equation only requires two or three parameters, which are described as easily available. The researchers believe the equation will be beneficial to firefighters, police and other emergency personnel who need quick information.

Compound-specific, quantitative characterization of organic fluorochemicals in biological matrices

Article Abstract:

The results of a study of 65 human sera samples produced the quantitative characterization of four organic flurochemical compounds. The results indicate that the levels measured agree with historical determinations of total organic fluorine. The study and its results are discussed, tabulated and graphed.
