Article Abstract:
Researchers measure the trace levels of cyanazine and its metabolites cyanazine amide and cyanazine acid using groundwater sample collected from New York. The water sample was measured using liquid chromatography/atmospheric pressure chemical ionization/mass spectrometry (LC/APCI/MS).

Article Abstract:
Groundwater and surface water samples were taken throughout Iowa to investigate the occurrence of the sulfonic and oxanilic metabolites of acetochlor, alachlor and metolachlor. The sulfonic and oxanilic metabolites were detected in almost 75% of the groundwater samples. All surface water samples yielded at least one detectable metabolite compound. A more thorough analysis of both parent compounds and metabolites will help determine the environmental fate and transport of herbicides in the hydrologic system.
