Article Abstract:

David Schultz and Robert Egger, designers for Specialized Bicycle Components Inc, have designed and had built three innovative prototype bicycles: the Metropolitan city bike, the Tandemonium tandem track racer bike and the Future Shock Experimental mountain bike. Design details are discussed.

Batteries come clean

Article Abstract:

Over two billion household batteries are thrown away each year, and these discarded batteries are responsible for half the mercury in landfills. However, new state and federal mercury level regulations are bringing about recycling efforts and the development of mercury-free batteries.

Truer-to-life TV: flat-look CRTs

Article Abstract:

One of the latest trends in the production of television sets is the development of cathode ray tubes that have flatter viewing surfaces. Flatter screens convey pictures with less distortion and seem more natural when viewed from an angle.
