Finnish drives company Vasa Control believes that the key difference in the drives market of the future will be software, with drive control software becoming more application specific. The company has developed a product range which uses the same control circuitry and a common hardware platform. Flexibility is provided through software, with each drive supplied with several standard programs tailored to typical applications.

The Wave concept was to extend the popular parametric design principle to a more sophisticated level. The Wave Studio aims to bombard customers with new ideas, forcing them to develop a design methodology that will become best practice.
