Article Abstract:
Decision conferencing (DC) literature does not sufficiently theorize the assumptions informing the DC process but tends to focus on the format and sequencing of this process and the respective roles of the facilitator and decision analyst. It would be better to develope a unified theory of DC as applied to strategic planning that integrates both the modeling and communicative aspects of the DC process. This proposed theoretical framework is discussed using the case of Curtin University of Technology's Strategic Planning and Decisions Unit.
