Article Abstract:
The planning of rural telecommunications infrastructure in developing countries, its initial enquiry and the necessary framework is detailed. The framework strengthens the concept of empowering the planners to tackle the rural telecommunications subsystem as a sociotechnical system providing a comprehensive understanding of the issue related to provision of rural telecommunications infrastructure.

The technology acceptance model (TAM) concept based on Davis technology and the concept of perceived usefulness (PU), and perceived case of use (PCU) and its influence on Egyptian consumer with regards to actual use of self-service technology is detailed. The survey results explain and reflect the capability and potential of self-service tools with special regard to Internet based applications.
