3-D molecular assembly of function in titania-based composite material systems

Article Abstract:

Several examples of composite titania-based nanostructured materials exhibiting cooperative functionalities between different active components are presented. The fabrication of these integrated composite materials is based on one-pot supramolecular templating techniques combined with acidic sol-gel chemistry.

Nonaqueous sol-gel routes to metal oxide nanoparticles

Article Abstract:

Nonaqueous processes offer better control of the reaction pathways on a molecular level allowing the synthesis of nanomaterials with high crystallinity and well-defined particle morphologies. The development of a strategy for synthesis of these inorganic nanomaterials is discussed.

Harnessing the sol-gel process for the assembly of non-silicate mesostructured oxide materials

Article Abstract:

Methods for synthesizing mesostructured inorganic oxides that are not based on a silicate framework are described. The critical aspects of mesostructure synthesis derived from experiments on both silicate and non-silicate materials are reviewed.
