A city that comes out in the cold

Article Abstract:

The city of Vienna, Austria, offers a sharp contrast between rich and poor. It has many elegant cafes, hotels and shops, but there are also large numbers of beggars. Its contradictions are also apparent in many others ways, such as the clash between its Baroque and Rococo buildings and its associations with modern art in the early 20th century. Significant events, such as the recent opening of Das Triest, a hotel designed by Terence Conran, attract many international visitors.

Why I love the Oscars

Article Abstract:

The annual Oscar ceremony is a very important event in many US households. People treat it as a time of enjoyment and relaxation, and are keen to feel part of the glamour and fun.
