Who a hunt ban will really hit

Article Abstract:

A ban on hunting in the UK would have a much more negative impact on large numbers of rural workers than it would on those for whom hunting is no more than a leisure pursuit. Many rural workers rely on hunting to make a living, and would find it hard to obtain alternative employment. In contrast, those who currently hunt would simply find another way to spend their leisure time. The Labour party has been placed in a potentially embarrassing situation by the fact that a private member's bill to ban hunting has been introduced by one of its own MPs, Michael Foster.

Living in the country doesn't mean I like hunters or hunting

Article Abstract:

Those who live in the countryside in the UK do not necessarily support fox hunting. Indeed, they can find that fox hunting actually threatens their land and their livestock and causes them considerable personal distress. Those who oppose a ban on fox hunting argue that this would be a violation of human rights, but they do not acknowledge that land owners who cannot prevent a hunt passing over their land are already having their human rights violated.

Don't let the fox-hunting lobby drive a wedge between town and country

Article Abstract:

Some British people who support fox-hunting appear to be determined to create a chasm between the town and the country. Those who oppose hunting with dogs are dismissed as being urbanites who know nothing about rural life.
