UK: MOVE BY BIDDERS FOR UNITED BISCUITS

Article Abstract:

Nabisco and Hicks Muse, the two bidders for UK-based United Biscuits, will hand over control of their consortium, Burlington Biscuits, it was confirmed on 20 March 2000. A Finalrealm associate business which has links with Danone, the French food group, and combines Cinven, DB Capital Partners and Paribas Affaires Industrielles. The two groups plan to break up United Biscuits' assets after buying the business for GB[pound] 1.26bn.

UK: TBI RECEIVES TAKEOVER APPROACH

Article Abstract:

It is understood that a US equity group has opened takeover negotiations with TBI, the UK based operator of regional airports. It is thought that a deal could value TBI at GB[pound] 500mn although an announcement is not expected before the company unveils its interim results in November 2000. The UK Takeover Panel insisted that TBI announce an earlier approach for the company made in August 2000.

UK: SENIOR FOCUS OF BID APPROACHES
