The shootist

Article Abstract:

Mohammed Amin, who died recently in the crash of a plane hijacked from Addis Ababa, was regarded as one of Africa's most fearless television cameramen. He had an extraordinary ability to deal with the most hostile local conditions, and showed great courage, even after he lost an arm in an explosion in Addis Ababa. He also ran a number of his own companies, and when he died was working in a business capacity, rather than following up a news story.

Recent media reports have suggested that leading television entertainer Michael Barrymore has lost fans since he revealed his homosexuality in 1995. In fact, he has not really lost a significant number of fans, with most people feeling that his sexuality is his own concern.

Spacious, desirable and still empty

Article Abstract:

County Hall, situated across the river Thames from the Houses of Parliament on one of the most high profile sites in London, has stood empty since the Greater London Council was abolished in 1986. It is falling into disrepair, but recent indications are that it will remain empty for another two decades. The government is now under pressure to ensure that such a prestigious building is now allowed to deteriorate.
