Article Abstract:
An aerial armada of around 460 aircraft has been assembled to back up Nato threats of military action against Serbia. If Serbian President Slobodan Milosevic refuses to yield to diplomatic pressure over Kosovo, Yugoslavia, then Nato military action will be undertaken in several stages, each designed to gradually increase pressure on him. Milosevic is aware that avoiding Nato air strikes would mean agreeing to a peace-keeping force being sent to Kosovo, an option not favoured by the US.

Article Abstract:
UK Prime Minister Tony Blair and President Bill Clinton should be aware by now that adopting a confrontational approach to Iraqi President Saddam Hussein will not be successful. Renewed fighting in the Gulf will only lead to stalemate, and the US must realize that it is no longer feasible to threaten air strikes. The most appropriate solution now would be to begin to treat Iraq as a normal country, thus bringing it out of its isolation.

Article Abstract:
British Tornado aircraft will undertake 20% of the manned bombing missions to be launched against Iraq over a period of between two and three days. These aircraft have been used for the second wave of attacks on Baghdad, Iraq, and have been followed by US B-52 bombers. The first attack, by sea-based US missiles, is reported to have caused significant damage to key targets, but there are reports that civilian properties were also struck.
