Stay on the right side of the tracks

Article Abstract:

Some 70% of visitors to the National Railway Museum, York, UK, both adult and children, are male. The museum's exhibits tell the story of the railways from the Rocket to Eurostar. The Great Hall is a brick shed, which was a parcels depot until the railway industry lost out to lorries. Twice a day a turntable is operated by two women, showing how engines were turned round when they reached their destination. Adults appear very nostalgic at the museum, because the railways have been torn apart since the 1960s.
