Article Abstract:
There is strong evidence that rape has been used as a weapon of war for many generations. In modern society, many women fleeing political and ethnic persecution across the world report that they have been raped. Female refugees who have been raped should be offered safety and protection, but in fact the UK government treats them very harshly, sometimes even deporting them. Many female refugees arriving in the UK fail to disclose that they have been raped because their asylum claim is processed by unsympathetic male officials.

Article Abstract:
Some women in the UK are now moving towards pay equality with men. However, there are still very large numbers of women who are expected to have less money than men, to work fewer paid hours and to receive less for each hour they work. It is vital that pressure is put on the government to address the challenges faced by working women on very low incomes, many of whom find it hard to feed their children. Among other things, the government must reform the old-fashioned legislation on equal pay.
