Patti and Robert: up close and personal

Article Abstract:

The asprey jacques gallery in London, England, is staging an exhibition entitled 'Robert, Patti and Sam.' This is a collection of photographs taken by Robert Mapplethorpe in the early 1970s. There is a very attractive silver print from the shooting of the cover for the Patti Smith album 'Horses,' and there are two other silver prints of Smith.

An exhibition entitled 'Public Artist, Private Passions: the World of Edward Linley Sambourne,' is being staged at Leighton House in London, England. He was particularly well known for his photographs of semi-naked women. His photographs were often used as the basis for his cartoons for Punch magazine.

The Guildhall in Cambridge, England, is exhibiting photographs of Cambridgeshire by Richard Heeps. These photographers were taken for the photographer's Year of the Artist residency project, during which he focused on the part of the Greenwich Meridian Line that crosses Cambridgeshire.
