The Taliban have won - now they must join the world

Article Abstract:

The Taliban Islamic movement now controls nine-tenths of Afghanistan, and is certain to press its claim for Western recognition even harder. The movement claims that it has brought stability to the areas it controls and that it has a popular mandate. However, its relations with the West seem to be worsening as it exploits the opium trade to fund its war with the north and issues edits severely restricting the movements of women. Relations will not improve until serious misunderstandings on both sides are overcome.

In Brno, they now ask your opinion ...

Article Abstract:

Brno is the second city in the Czech Republic, and is situated in the centre of Europe. However, it remains relatively undiscovered by tourists. It has extremely interesting architecture, with key buildings including the 13th century Old Town Hall and the 17th century monastery. It is particularly worth sampling local food, including hot sausages sold from roadside stalls at many places in the city.
