Loud and Luscious

Article Abstract:

US all-girl pop group Luscious Jackson differs in many ways from manufactured girl groups such as the Spice Girls. The members of the group regard themselves as artists, and do not like emphasis to be placed on the fact that they are women. Their music is clearly influenced by their New York roots, but they are also willing to try new approaches. Their most recent album, 'Fever in Fever out,' was produced partly in New York and partly in New Orleans. This has given it a hint of Doctor John voodoo blues.

Small screen, big star

Article Abstract:

Pamela Anderson has never really sought credibility, being acutely aware that she is a star rather than an actress. The admiration she attracts is prompted mainly by the way in which she obviously enjoys being a star. She has reasonable talent as an actress, but began to encounter difficulties with her career when she moved into films. She needs television, but could do better than 'Baywatch.'
