Law of the jungle takes over as the killers begin to be hunted down

Article Abstract:

Ugandan and Rwandan soldiers are attempting to track down the Hutu rebels who murdered eight Western tourists in the Bwindi National Park in Uganda. Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni has stated that those responsible for this crime will be seized and killed. Ugandan and US investigators are interviewing those who survived the attack, some of whom are now extremely traumatized. The UK government has requested clarification of reports that the Ugandan tourist board had received a letter in which Hutu rebels stated that they would kill British and American tourists.

Another good Friday dawns and...

Article Abstract:

There seems to be a good chance that the Northern Irish peace agreement will be approved in the referendum on May 22, 1998. There is a general mood of optimism in Belfast, Northern Ireland, with people looking forward to a peaceful future. There is also relatively little bitterness about the conflict of the past. People feel that they no longer wish to live in fear, and are determined that political dogma will not stand in the way of peace.

A house in flames, a street in tears

Article Abstract:

An arson attack by loyalists on a house in Ballymoney, Northern Ireland, has killed three sons of a Catholic mother. The house is situated in the mainly Protestant Carnany estate in the town, which itself is in the Protestant stronghold of County Antrim. The boys belonged to a mixed family, with their grandmother being a Protestant who married a Catholic. Their father was Catholic, but their mother's new partner is a Protestant.
