Jogger without a road map

Article Abstract:

Bill Clinton was a successful campaigner but now he is in power his lack of a clear cut ideology will restrict his administration. He has appointed cabinet officials who disagree with some of his policies. He selected politicians to suit various groups as he is easily influenced. He promised to restrict new spending to $220 billion (142 billion pounds sterling,) but special interest groups wish for much more. He will try to please everyone and cause an increase in inflation and in the national deficit.

Clinton called the PM from Air Force One: 'Get ready for strikes.'

Article Abstract:

The decision by President Bill Clinton to go ahead with air strikes against Iraq was prompted by a report from Richard Butler, Chmn of the United Nations special commission on disarming Iraq, indicating that Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein had gone back on his promise to comply with United Nations weapons inspections. Clinton had no choice but to honour the commitment he made on Nov 14, 1998, to launch a military attack without warning if Saddam was found to have failed to meet his obligations.
