Harvey Postlethwaite

Article Abstract:

Mechanical engineer Harvey Postlethwaite gained a BSc and a PhD in mechanical engineering from Birmingham University, England. He began working at ICI in 1968 as a research specialist in advanced materials, and later gained experience at March. He engineered Lord Hesketh's privately owned March 731G for racing driver James Hunt in 1973, and in 1977 moved to the Wolf team before joining Ferrari. He moved in 1988 to the first of two spells with Tyrrell.

The formula for sporting success

Article Abstract:

Former motor racing driver Jackie Stewart has announced plans to launch a full-scale Formula 1 racing team for the 1997 season. This will be developed from Paul Stewart Racing, the team which his son has been running in junior formulas since 1968. He has long been admired for his great resourcefulness and mental focus, but now faces a very challenging time.

Ken Tyrrell

Motor-racing team manager Ken Tyrrell was born in East Horsley, England, in 1924. He made his debut as a team owner in 1968 with an F1 Matra driven by Jackie Stewart.
