Funds for the future

Article Abstract:

Some observers believe that ethical investment, which currently accounts for around 1% of retail investment funds in the UK, is set to become a mainstream activity. Changes are taking place in the way ethnical funds are managed and in their links with the companies whose shares they purchase for their funds. Some ethical investment is based on a long-term process of constructive management, while some is based on negative screening of company behaviour. Some investment advisors believe that those really committed to ethical investing should use fund managers who are pro-active and seek to influence companies in how they operate.
