The surreal collector from heaven

Article Abstract:

The Guggenheim Museum in New York, NY, is currently staging an exhibition entitled 'Peggy Guggenheim: A Centennial Celebration.' This will later move to the Peggy Guggenheim Collection in Venice, Italy, where she lived. Guggenheim nurtured the Surrealists, but was also a Surrealist herself in her understanding of art as an emanation of the psyche. She interpreted modern art through Surrealist eyes by installing her collection in a palazzo in Venice.

Tracey Emin, the art world's bit of rough

Article Abstract:

Artist Tracey Emin feels that she wants something beyond herself, something new to think about. She is even considering having a baby or adopting a child, even though she has until recently not liked children. She accepts that she is a great survivor, having had a very traumatic abortion and failed in a bid to commit suicide. She has attracted very mixed reactions, but has now become an established element in the UK art scene.
