Article Abstract:
Donovan, the Glaswegian singer who had several singles in the charts in 1965, did his first tour for 10 years in the UK in 1992. At 16 he travelled to St Ives, Cornwall, England and lived a Bohemian lifestyle. He was taught claw hammer style guitar by a St Albans tramp. At the end of the 1960's he left the country for tax reasons but was dissatisfied with the lifestyle and returned. He made nine albums in the 1970s and three in the 1980s. He is a romantic and likes to 'sing positive songs in a negative world.' He lives in Cork with wife his Linda and two children.

The Lake District region of England has been attracting visitors for many generations. The lakes and mountains there are constantly changing, so there is always something of interest to see, even for people who have been to the area many times before. Rydal Water is the best place for an easy walk, for example, while Catbells, which overlooks Derwent Water, is the easiest climb. It is worth taking a boat trip on one of the lakes, and time should also be devoted to some of the man-made visitor attractions, such as the Lakeland Wool and Sheep Centre at Cockermouth.

The Oscar-winning actress Glenda Jackson had worked for the Labour Party for 20 years and when the London constituency Hampstead and Highgate became vacant she decided to try for it. She had canvassed in three elections and had been horrified by the way Margaret Thatcher had savaged the country. She realised the only way she could do anything about it was to become a member of parliament (MP). She says the facilities for members are appalling, and has to share an office with another Labour MP, Tessa Jowell. She has made nine speeches and several interruptions.
