Bosnia: living nightmare of nationalism gone mad

Article Abstract:

War has destroyed the Bosnian middle class, and educated young people are seeking to emigrate since the future offers little hope in Bosnia. War in Bosnia has given different factions their own borders, but the economy has collapsed and people have fled. Those who suffer from the effects of nationalism should oppose it, but nationalism is not rational, and other ethnic groups are blamed for the problems. Business dealings draw politicians together, though they come from different ethnic groups, but most people lack information to assess the situation of Bosnia.

Article Abstract:

The Democrat candidate in the Californian elections for the governorship is Gray Davis, a cautious and pragmatic man who is seen as capable of winning California for the Democrats after 16 years out of power. Davis is the only candidate for his party who has a clear lead. The Democrats control the state legislature of California and the Democratic sentaor, Barbara Boxer, could also win. Even Greeks themselves now admit that traditionally popular tourist destinations have become expensive, that hotels are of poor quality and that tourists are frequently exploited.
