Article Abstract:

The Whitechapel Gallery in London, England, is staging an exhibition of the works of French writer and artist Henri Michaux. This exhibition, entitled 'Henri Michaux: Works on Paper,' will cover around 130 works, displayed in three sections. The section entitled 'Calligraphy' deals mainly with works in Indian ink, while the 'Watercolours' section covers both abstract and figurative paintings. The third section, 'Mescalin,' deals with 63 of Michaux's graphic records of his experiences of taking hallucinogenic drugs.

The Tate Britain in London, England, is staging an exhibition of medieval sculpture entitled 'Image and Idol.' The exhibition begins with a crucifixion from around 1130, and includes an early 15th century vault boss and a terracotta 'Effigy of Dr Yonge' from 1516 by Pietro Torrigiano.

Dr Miller goes abstract

Article Abstract:

An exhibition of painting and sculpture entitled 'Jonathan Miller: Paper and Metal Works' is being staged at Flowers East, London, England. Miller states that he is an old-fashioned Modernist, having ben moulded by the traditions of 1910 to 1925.
