Article Abstract:
There has been considerable controversy in the UK over the fact that Germany and France want taxes in the European Union to be harmonized. In fact, this debate is parochial and largely irrelevant. In a global context, the European tax regime is not really a significant problem. The European economy is under much more pressure from negative developments in Latin America, Russia and the Far East than from regional tax strategies, and for this reason it would be more appropriate to consider how Europe can exercise some power over global markets. European countries should now begin uniting to address economic issues.

Article Abstract:
The UK government believes that too much money is allocated to disabled people who already have enough money and are in a position to look after themselves. It feels that funding should be targeted at the more severely disabled who require assistance and that more encouragement should be given to disabled people to work if they are able to do so. However, it is important to acknowledge that many disabled people have suffered a loss of confidence and esteem. They may require a great deal of encouragement and advice before they are willing to attempt to work.
