It is worth visiting Bangkok, Thailand, in Jan, as this is when the city is at its coolest. There is a range of tourist accommodation on Khao San Road, located just east of the Democracy Monument. It is worth travelling by riverbus, going ashore at Thewet, on the east bank in the north of the city. There are many roadside food stalls from which it is possible to purchase noodles and vegetables very cheaply. There are many stores selling goods at bargain prices.
