Article Abstract:

Many exclusive country clubs across the US are still slow to allow black members. When black golfer Tiger Woods gained national attention, some clubs admitted a few black members. However, some say that these clubs only allow one or 2 in order to comply with golfing bylaws, and do not encourage the sponsorship of other blacks.

Site options for the construction of Philadelphia's sports stadium include 30th Street, Spring Garden and South Philadelphia. Its construction is expected not to happen at least until 2001 despite of a report that the state could subsidize about 15% to 35% of the costs.

Article Abstract:

The new convention center, which opens Jun 1993, cost $523 to build. It is estimated by the Philadelphia Convention and Visitors Bureau that the center will inject $21 million into the local economy in 1993 and $300 million total by 2002.
