Discover Paris with Jules Verne

Article Abstract:

The use of Jules Verne novel 'Paris au XXe siecle' to teach French to American students can also give such students a knowledge of 19th and 20th century France. Classes can be conducted entirely in French so that students improve both their oral proficiency and their reading skills. Writing skills can improve by having students compile chapter summaries. A syllabus for teaching French with this novel is given by a French teacher from a Pennsylvania high school.
