Article Abstract:

Wolfgang Sawallisch, who will replace Riccardo Muti as principal conductor of the Philadelphia Orchestra in Sep 1993, gives a master lesson to a pianist who had not played in some eight years. The humorous events of the lesson, during which the student played Bach's 'Fantasy in C Minor,' are related.
